Education and Experience:
Any combination of experience and college education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field;
Experience: Three (3) years of professional-level human resources experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in compensation and classification analysis highly desired.
Experience in public sector experience highly desired.
Knowledge and Abilities- Knowledge of the principles of human resources administration
- Knowledge of classification and compensation systems in the public sector
- Knowledge of recruitment and selection, testing and hiring
- Knowledge of pay principles, job evaluation, and salary administration
- Knowledge of current principles of record keeping, records management
- Knowledge of principles and practices of effective research methods and data analysis
- Knowledge of problem resolution techniques
- Ability to perform a variety of duties and responsibilities and assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands to meet deadlines
- Ability to ensure appropriate levels of customer service to achieve expectations and meet objectives
- Ability to research, collect, and analyze applicable data
- Ability to maintain accurate and timely records
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and data
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to use interpersonal skills to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive work direction
- Ability to define problem areas, collect and evaluate data, define and select alternatives, draw conclusions and develop recommendations and develop plans to implement recommendations
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public
- Ability to work in a diverse community
