MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
Knowledge of:
 

1. Principles and techniques for system and procedure analysis, design and documentation.
2. Principles and techniques of structured programming.
3. Principles of network operating systems.
4. Techniques of testing and debugging systems and networks.
5. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
6. Oral and written communication skills.

1. Demonstrate proficiency using standard network routing protocols; including: Ethernet (802.3), frame-relay, ISDN, BRI, PRI, HDLC, TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, RIP, SNMP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, FTP, NTP and any other as designated by the District and approved by the County.
2. Demonstrate proficiency implementing, testing and administering server based applications. Demonstrate proficiency interfacing multiple client platforms with network operating systems.
3. Analyze user needs and develop effective network systems and strategies.
4. Test, implement, debug and document various network systems.
5. Install network hardware; i.e., routers, switchers, hubs, network cable, servers, workstations, printers, scanners, etc.
6. Train others on network utilization and benefits.
7. Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
8. Understand and follow oral and written directions.
9. Prepare clear, complete, and concise reports, documentation and records.
10. Meet schedules and time lines.
11. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
    
    

• Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with a major in computer science, mathematics, or related technical field, and
• Four (4) years of professional experience which includes designing, installing, modifying, and maintaining the infrastructure of network systems and devices.
