Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking highly motivated, detail-oriented self-starters for the Systems Specialist position.
LACOE is the nation's largest regional education agency. LACOE provides a range of programs and services to promote the academic and financial stability of the County's 80 school districts and the achievement of more than 2 million preschool and school-age children.
The Systems Specialist performs daily monitoring of system functions or report data and provides technical support and assistance for enterprise-wide or departmental systems to client districts, LACOE units, and client reporting agencies.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:- Computer terminology and basic principles of database management
- Functions and operations of automated business systems
- Processes and terminology used in the administration of payroll, accounting, or financial functions
- Applicable federal and state laws and regulations
- Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications
- Basic arithmetic

Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
Experience: Two years of automated business systems experience processing, entering, and monitoring data and resolving related issues.
Additional Requirements: College coursework in accounting, business or personnel administration is desirable. A valid California driver's license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites may be required.
Remote, work-from-home, or hybrid work days may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE will require all employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
Selection Process
Candidates who meet the minimum requirements above will be invited to participate in an examination that may consist of a multiple choice exam, a computer performance exam, and a structured interview.

Candidates who pass all exam parts are ranked according to overall exam score and placed on an eligibility (hiring) list. Vacant positions are filled from the top three ranks. Eligibility lasts for 12 months; however, additional recruitment may occur under a separate bulletin with additional candidates being merged onto the eligibility list. Some positions that involve public contact may require bilingual proficiency for which selective certification may apply (Education Code 45277.5). In addition, the eligibility list resulting from this examination may be used to fill vacancies in related job classifications for which no eligibility list exists (Education Code 45272).
