Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking analytical and detail-oriented individuals to apply for the Business Systems Analyst position.
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for developing functional specifications and coordinating the implementation and testing of modifications and enhancements of agency wide business systems. This position will also perform a variety of analytical and technical duties in support of fiscal and compliance responsibilities of Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and/or its client agencies and acts as liaison between users and information technology staff to develop technology-based business solutions.
The current vacancy is in the Accounts Payable unit of the Division of School Financial Services.
The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:- Terminology, methods, practices, and techniques of design, administration, research, testing, and assessment of enterprise business systems
- Financial and business systems and applications
- Systems testing techniques
- Systems analysis, design and implementation
- Database design and functions
- Data integrity testing concepts and methods
- Federal, state and local laws, rules, regulations, and codes relating to school accounting
- Principles and practices of financial analysis
- Principles of accounting, budgeting concepts, and financial reporting
- Internal accounting control concepts
- Training methods and techniques
- Microsoft office applications including Access, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
- Analyzing & Interpreting Data – Drawing meaning and conclusions from quantitative or qualitative data
- Critical Thinking – Analytically and logically evaluating information, propositions, and claims
- Legal & Regulatory Navigation – Understanding, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations

Education: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, finance, computer/management information systems or other fields closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience: Three years of experience providing technical systems support and coordinating testing within automated business systems.
Additional Requirements: A valid California driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required.
Selection Process
