- DESCRIPTION

The Technology and Innovation Department is seeking two (2) Administrative Interns to perform tasks related to the planning, administration, and technology of the Department. One (1) intern will be assigned to the Business Operations Bureau and one (1) intern will be assigned to the Enterprise Information Services Bureau.
The Technology and Innovation Department (TID) plans and develops the technology infrastructure for the City and provides a centralized resource for technology deployment and support throughout the City. The Department integrates people, processes, and technology to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of City services. TID is organized into five bureaus: Business Information Services, Business Operations, Customer Services, Enterprise Information Services, and Infrastructure Services. - Business Operations Bureau (1 Intern)
- Utilizes Microsoft Office programs such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook, to create materials;
- Schedules, participates, facilitates, and takes notes at status meetings;
- Provides general administrative and clerical assistance including, but not limited to:
- Scheduling interviews;
- Preparing interview binders for interview panelists;
- Drafting recruitment flyers;
- Maintaining the TID recruitment and TID invoice mailboxes;
- Assisting accounts payable/receivable staff with invoice and purchase order process;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Meets with City departments to provision and validate employees and processes such as locations, workflows, deductions, profile elements, workflows for Payroll modules;
- Integrates users into different environments through the time entry module;
- Works closely with the LBCOAST Payroll Project Team in monitoring the quality and scheduling of meetings as it relates to Payroll;
- Reviews reports, and works with various reporting systems to develop reporting as needed;
- Corresponds and communicates with other LBCOAST project employees and consultants via email, phone and live meetings;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- REQUIREMENTS TO FILE
- QUALIFICATIONS:Current enrollment from an accredited college or university in an Associate's or Bachelor's program with a focus/emphasis in computer science, engineering, information systems, business administration, public administration, or a related field (proof required).DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Product Suite e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio;
- Strong work ethic and history of dependability;
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills;
- Strong organizational skills;
- Ability to quickly learn new applications and follow detailed instructions;
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with employees and management without technical backgrounds;
- Ability to take direction and work independently, or as part of a team;
- Experience with business process reengineering, documenting workflows, and developing specifications.
