We are looking to fill full-time openings for both the Administrative Operations Analyst and the Management Assistant positions. If not selected for the Administrative Operations Analyst, you may be selected for Management Assistant.
What you will do as an Administrative Operations Analyst:- Engage in a two-year rotational learning program where we teach you about the administrative operations of the County
- Learn how we operate in departments that offer services like public safety, protection, health, child welfare, social services, community development, recreation, museum, and operations
- Attend and participate in Departmental, Countywide, State, and Federal committees, training sessions, and task-forces
- Gain skills through active job assignments, working with various County departments
- Complete the program successfully and progress to the Administrative Analyst role where you will work in one of our County departments
Management Assistant does things like:- Research, analyze, draw conclusions from, and present information to a variety of individuals while participating in meetings, providing advisory or consultation services, recommending solutions, and coordinating activities
- Implement program initiatives and directives in areas like human resources, budget, finance, contracts, or capital projects
- Monitor and evaluate effectiveness of processes and programs, and make recommendations whether to continue, modify, or discontinue
- Prepare and review documents to effectively communicate with various audiences
- Requirements
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university. You must complete your degree by June 30, 2019.
We need you to submit proof of education along with the application. Acceptable documents are:- A photocopy of diploma or official transcript OR
- A verification or confirmation letter from the school's Registrar's Office on the official letter head of the school, with college or university seal. It should indicate that the student has completed all the academic requirements
If you served in the military and were honorably discharged, you may qualify for Veteran's Credit. We will need a copy of your form DD214 to review, so please include that with your application.
License:
A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to use an alternative method of transportation when needed to perform the job.
Physical Expectations:
This job requires light physical effort which may include occasional considerable walking, light lifting to a 10 pound limit, and some bending, stooping or squatting.- Additional Information
Our Assessment Process:
Once we have determined that you meet the requirements, we will invite you to take multiple-choice assessments of the competencies required for this job. We will assess quantitative ability, deductive reasoning, verbal ability, professional potential, achievement, independence, influence, confidence and optimism, and reliability.
The assessments are completed online, and the tentative dates to take them are June 11 through June 17, 2019.
You will need to score 70% or greater to pass. If you took an identical assessment in the past 12 months, we automatically transfer your answers to this opportunity. We will transfer your assessment responses to any future opportunity within 12 months.

Another resource is the SHL website, located at https://www.shldirect.com/en/practice-tests. We suggest you review any additional materials you think necessary.
Once you complete the assessments, you are not able to review them per Civil Service Rule 7.19.

What Happens Next:
