The Telephone Interviewing Shift Supervisor Assistant will provide broad support to the Director, the Office Manager and Shift Supervisor. The Back-Up Shift supervisor assists the Shift Supervisor to manage up to 24 telephone interviewers working in the CATI-Lab, ensure compliance with CATI-Lab policies and procedures, and maintain a consistently high standard for data collection. The Back-Up Shift supervisor may also be required to perform other tasks associated with the production of contract deliverables on an "as needed" basis. The ideal candidate will have good organizational and communication skills, the ability to manage and motivate people, maintain morale, and function effectively in a fast-paced, dead-line driven environment. Knowledge of research methods and interviewing experience is a plus. - Manage administrative tasks (e.g. scheduling, assigning interviewers to projects, processing time-sheets, conducting interviewer performance evaluations).
- Train newly hired SSRC telephone interviewers.
- Provide context for each new project to experienced SSRC telephone interviewers
- Monitor telephone interviewers as they conduct interviews and provide feedback to ensure consistency.
- Monitor telephone interviewer productivity.
- Resolve any conflicts between telephone interviewers.
- Maintain a professional working environment in the CATI-Lab.
- Other tasks on an "as needed" basis.
- Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills
- Good oral and written communication.
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word
- Ability to function effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent attendance record and reliability
- Minimum experience of six months as a Telephone Interviewer.
EDUCATION:
Minimum education: enrollment in high school. Preferred education: enrollment in CSU Fullerton or some college.

Lifting of up to 25lbs; periodic bending; long-term periods of sitting; long term periods operating a computer
