Job Summary
Under the leadership of the Manager
of Human Resources, this position will plan, direct and coordinate the training
and employee development for LAHSA.
Essential Job Functions
Training and Development
·
Organizes and conducts new employee orientation.
·
Coordinates development of effective employee onboard.
·
Works closely with managers to ensure onboarding tools are used for new
hires
·
Provides ongoing education for staff including skills gap analysis and
employee surveys.
·
Tracks training programs and activities.
·
Advises managers and supervisors on employee professional development
plans.
·
Map out training plans, design and develop training programs (outsourced
or in-house) for corporate, HR training and more
·
Choose appropriate training methods or activities (simulations,
mentoring, on the job training, professional development classes, etc)
·
Market available training opportunities to employees and provide
necessary information
·
Conduct organization wide training needs assessment and identify skills
or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
·
Use accepted education principles and track new training methods and
techniques
·
Design and prepare educational aids and materials
·
Assess instructional effectiveness and summarize evaluation reports
determining the impact of training on employee skills and how it affects KPIs
·
Organize train-the-trainer sessions for internal subject matter experts
·
Administer processes for career development, such as mentorship and
cross-training.
·
Analyze performance evaluation results as inputs to succession planning
process and possible training opportunities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
·
Proven work experience as a trainer, training facilitator or
coordinating multiple training events in a corporate setting
·
Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan,
develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
·
Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and
techniques
·
Ability to effectively handle and manage confidential and sensitive
information.
·
Knowledge of project management software, preferably Team GANTT.
·
Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office including proficiency in Outlook,
Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
·
Ability to think critically and strategically.
·
Strong written, verbal, presentation and communication skills.
·
Ability to communicate clearly and simply.
·
Ability to adapt rapidly in response to changing information or funding
needs.
·
Demonstrated organizational skills and proven ability to work
independently and manage multiple projects and priorities within a
multi?disciplinary team environment.
·
Sets a high standard for personal and team performance with a focus on
results.
·
Must be a confident self-starter who can develop effective business
relationships, both internally & externally.
·
Must have the administrative skills to manage training programs. They
evaluate the outcomes of training sessions and maintain records of trainees'
progress and achievements. They must also monitor training costs against
budgets and ensure they make the most efficient use of company resources.
Training & Experience
Minimum 5 years'
experience with training and a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or
university with coursework in human resource management, business or public
administration, risk management, or a related field. An equivalent
combination of applicable training and experience may be substituted for
educational requirement. Must possess excellent judgment and be
flexible. PHR and/or SHRM-CP certifications preferred.
