Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is considered qualifying. A typical way to obtain the necessary qualifications is as follows:
Graduation from high school
AND
One year of experience performing general clerical or library duties
English/Spanish or English/Korean bilingual abilities are preferred but not required. Public library experience is preferred but not required.
The knowledge and abilities which are required to perform the duties and responsibilities of this class are as follows:
Knowledge of:
English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Basic math as it relates to the area assigned.
Customer service, receptionist, and telephone techniques.
Basic library or office methods, functions, and practices.
Computer applications related to the area assigned.
