Minimum qualifications & Requirements

Education and Experience:
Any combination of experience and college education that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
 
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field;

Experience: Three (3) years of professional-level human resources experience.

Preferred Qualifications:  

Experience in compensation and classification analysis highly desired. 

Experience in public sector experience highly desired. 

 Knowledge and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the principles of human resources administration
  • Knowledge of classification and compensation systems in the public sector
  • Knowledge of recruitment and selection, testing and hiring
  • Knowledge of pay principles, job evaluation, and salary administration
  • Knowledge of current principles of record keeping, records management 
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of effective research methods and data analysis
  • Knowledge of problem resolution techniques
  • Ability to perform a variety of duties and responsibilities and assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands to meet deadlines
  • Ability to ensure appropriate levels of customer service to achieve expectations and meet objectives
  • Ability to research, collect, and analyze applicable data
  • Ability to maintain accurate and timely records
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and data
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to use interpersonal skills to sufficiently exchange or convey information and receive work direction
  • Ability to define problem areas, collect and evaluate data, define and select alternatives, draw conclusions and develop recommendations and develop plans to implement recommendations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public
  • Ability to work in a diverse community
