EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES – Any combination and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Graduation from an accredited "four" year college or university with major course work in Computer Science, informational systems or related fields. Completion of an accredited computer training school with certifications will be considered in lieu of college graduation.
Experience:
Two years full-time experience in computer operations, troubleshooting, network administration and repair. Experience with mini and microcomputers is desired. Knowledge of Database Systems such as MSQL and Active Directory is desirable.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Possession of an appropriate California driver's license.
- Comptia A+, MCSE/MCSA, & Network + certification highly desirable.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Advanced principles, practices and technology related to the operation and maintenance of computer systems.
- Data processing operations, including input preparation, data control procedures and data output.
- Working knowledge of server platforms (i.e., MS Exchange 2010 & Active Directory, 2008), Alpha and Unix desirable.
- Network protocol (DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP).
- Current related computer automation and information systems technologies and developments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Principles and practices of network administration, system access, and security procedures.
- Troubleshooting techniques for network operating domains, relational databases, and web- and windows-based software applications.
- Hardware, technologies, topologies, and administration protocols and telecommunications hardware and software systems.
- Networked computer system environments and device capabilities.
- Maintenance standards for network operating systems and servers.
- Principles and protocols for the management of electronic information.
- IT access policies, and data security protocols.
