1. Excellent verbal/written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
2. Working knowledge of basic principles, practices and techniques of GIS applications; cartographic principles; and design and database management gained from formal training and/or work experience. 
3. Working knowledge of Esri ArcMap 10.x.
4. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, members of other departments and agencies, and deal with the public in a courteous manner.
5. Good organization skills, as well as a detail-oriented work approach.
6. Ability to work independently and in a group environment.
7. Ability to handle multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
8. Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). 
9. Familiar with U.S. Census Bureau products, such as data.census.gov. 
10. Ability to read and interpret site plans or related source documents is desired. 
11. Knowledge of geocoding databases is desired.
12. Experience with conducting demographic analysis is desired.
13. Knowledge of or willingness to learn new software programs, such as Esri ArcPro, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Access, and/or SAS is highly desired.

 EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Demography, Sociology, Economics, Geography, GIS or a related field. Graduate degree preferred in Demography, Sociology, Economics, Geography or a related field.
