Requirements

EDUCATION: 
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in human resources management, personnel administration, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.  Master's degree is highly desirable.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Human Resources Analyst: One (1) year of responsible experience personnel administration or a related field.
  • Senior Human Resources Analyst: Three (3) years of progressively responsible professional personnel experience. 
KNOWLEDGE OF:
Human resources operations, procedures, policies, rules, objectives and organization; terminology, methods, techniques, principles, and practices of personnel administration; personnel policies and procedures and applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and ordinances; proper English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary; modern office practices, procedures, and equipment, recordkeeping techniques and procedures, and computer applications.

ABILITY TO:
Understand and interpret rules, laws, and policies and apply them in a variety of procedural situations; independently perform work with accuracy, speed, and initiative; prepare and maintain accurate and complete records and reports; successfully plan, coordinate, and organize workload to meet deadlines with frequent changes in volume of activity and priority of assignments; properly interpret and make decisions in accordance with legal regulations and policies; make mathematical calculations quickly and accurately; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action; establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others; work confidentially with discretion.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid CA driver's license is highly desirable. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment described here is representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Incumbents in this classification primarily work inside and may occasionally work beyond normal work hours.

THE SELECTION PROCESS
The selection process may include:
  • Online performance exam - candidates will be notified of test dates via email
  • Oral panel interview - tentatively scheduled for September 29, 2022
