What We Do
The Community Development Department of the City of Beverly Hills is responsible for the review and processing of development projects including land entitlements, zoning and plan review, inspection services, permit issuance, and code enforcement. It also oversees programs such as rent stabilization, historic preservation program, animal control and records requests. Community Development also provides staff assistance to 5 city commissions; including, Planning, Architectural, Design Review, Cultural Heritage, and Rent Stabilization.
What We're Looking For
The City of Beverly Hills' Community Development Department is seeking two highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of Customer Service Representative to perform a wide variety of public assistance and public information activities. The incumbents will perform a variety of general clerical activities related to fee calculations and collections, licenses and permits, record keeping, and answering customer inquires. These individuals should have excellent communication skills to ensure effective customer service and maintain the ability to exercise good judgment, tact, and discretion. Exposure to municipal code, international building code, or construction management is a plus as these positions will focus on assisting the permit center. The ideal candidate will possess attention to detail, be a problem solver, and remain a team player while maintaining a positive attitude. These two positions will report directly to the Permit Center Supervisor.

A Customer Service Representative performs a wide variety of public assistance and public information activities at a public service counter, on the telephone, or via e-mail or online systems, prepares, issues and collects fees on various applications; licenses, permits, bonds, and utility billings and performs a variety of general clerical activities related to billing, permits, cashiering and record keeping functions.
