Job Summary:
This position will have primary responsibilities supporting the Estimating/Contract Administration Departments for all bidding and active contracted projects, provide accounting clerk assistance and general administrative tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED equivalent or AA diploma required.
1 to 2 years post-secondary education with a business or construction management emphasis preferred
Must possess a valid state driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record
Background check and pre-employment drug screening required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a construction company setting preferred but not required. Accounting and database software experience (JD Edwards, Access).
Duties and/or Responsibilities:
Assists in the preparation, review and administration of construction contacts, agreements, subcontracts, charters and towage agreements.
Secure all necessary approvals and adhere to standard company policy.
Gather information in order to set up jobs on the appropriate computer systems.
Enter contract billings.
Monitors compliance to contract requirements ensuring all conditions are satisfied before approval of final invoice. (Bonding, insurance, SBE, DBE, EEO, Apprenticeship program and other contract requirements.)
Set up and maintain bid/project information into the computerized system in a timely manner.
Submit certified payrolls (received from accounting) or other agency or government reporting required by contracts in a timely manner.
Maintain cost accounting codes used in JD Edwards accounting system.
Establishes and updates records of all correspondence related to contract activities.
Maintain accurate and up to date contracts/subcontract files.
Coordinate subcontract payments with PM and accounting.
Other Duties as assigned.
Work in cooperation with local and regional staff on Finance as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
