Titans ASES Assistant Coordinators are the assistant supervisor at a designated after-school site and will be in ratio at a site. Titans ASES Assistant Coordinators are responsible for the overall supervision of a site and for all students participating in the program. The Assistant Coordinator must be available to work five days a week, Monday to Friday from 12:30 - 6:15 p.m. Must maintain contact with the Lead Coordinator regarding all aspects of the program and must be committed to being a constant presence during all hours of operation. Titans ASES Assistant Coordinators must have high energy, excellent organizational and communication skills, and the ability to maintain a fun and organized atmosphere.


Essential Duties

  • Ability to manage one site (3-5 classrooms with 20-25 students per class, totaling between
  • 60–120 students at any school site and manage up to 3-5 staff members as well).
  • Directly working with students is a must.
  • Required to stay past scheduled time when students are picked up past normal check-out time and occur at site, regardless of the circumstances.
  • Must host weekly staff meetings with the staff members at their designated site.
  • Responsible for hosting Parent Events at sites at the end of each school year.
  • Must report all staff call outs for work to the Lead Coordinator.
  • Works with the Lead Coordinator to prepare and implement program activities and a disciplinary plan.
  • Communicates regularly with the Lead Coordinator regarding all aspects of the program.
  • Responsible for calling and requesting substitutes for site’s staff members.
  • Must display professionalism at all times.
  • Must implement all Titans ASES rules and procedures.
  • Provide tutoring and homework assistance to help students meet national standards.
  • Implement all Titans ASES curriculum.
  • Create and implement engaging educational curriculum on a monthly basis or as needed.
  • Provide students with educational enrichment which may include positive youth development strategies, recreation, and prevention activities and the ability to teach youth positive life skills.
  • Assistant Coordinator is responsible for any Titans ASES property such as curriculum and electronics that have been given to them or checked out for use. If these items are not returned or are reported lost, the employee will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
  • Ensures the program materials and equipment are available and working.
  • Ensures students receive constant supervision and provides a safe and supported environment at all times.
  • Responsible for managing service learners, interns, and volunteers at the site.
  • Ensures that the absent list gets sent to the Program Assistant within 30 minutes of the program’s start time.
  • Mandatory: Must volunteer 6 hours (3 per semester) of Professional Development
  • Hours (PDH) by the end of April 2020. Extensions may be granted with prior approval from either the Program Director and Program Coordinator.
  • Responsible to collect all attendance documents and any other documents needed at the end of programming on a daily basis.
  • Maintain updated information on the attendance tracking system:
  • Responsible for having their own vehicle of transportation. This position will require the use of your own vehicle from time to time to transport program equipment from sites or to report to other locations if needed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Lead Coordinator, Program Director and Program
  • Coordinator as well as the staff members at the site.
  • Responsible to help guide other staff members to enhance their job performance.
  • Responsible to clock in/out at the site’s desktop computer
  • Performs other duties that are assigned throughout the year.

Qualifications

  • Supervisory skills a must.
  • Ability to solely manage a classroom of 20-25 students.
  • Understanding of behavior management and effective disciplinary techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional interpersonal and partnering relationship skills.
  • Ability to keep track of all curriculum and binders at the site.
  • Enthusiastic and highly motivated.
  • Proven leadership and team-building skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel) and Google Drive (i.e. Docs, Sheets).
  • Must pass the District Exam OR have 48 College Units Completed.
  • Must have at least a 2.5 GPA, if enrolled in college as an undergrad.
  • Must be flexible, team-oriented, child-focused, and wanting to make a difference in children’s lives.
EDUCATION:
  • Must pass the District Exam OR have 48 College Units Completed.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Prolonged sitting in front of the computer. Walking, talking, hearing, pulling, bending, may
carry 10-15 pounds of objects/materials, not exposed to extreme noise level, use hands to
finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, taste or smell.
