Inglewood Unified School District is seeking qualified candidates for the position of ASES Program Specialists! These incumbents will be responsible for providing high-quality after school and extended day opportunities to students. This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education. An AA Degree and working towards a BA Degree in education or related field is preferred. This is a classified position subject to the federal No Child Left Behind Act. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

JOB SUMMARY: 

Under direction of the ASES District Coordinator, provides high-quality after school and extended day opportunities to students. This position will assist Instructional Support - ASES staff by co-designing, establishing, and reviewing site level programs, CQI plans and assist with training paraprofessionals who work as the frontline staff with our students. Work closely with school day faculty designees and administration, to provide well-rounded academic support and enrichment programs to various school sites. Lead  and collaborate with Instructional Support-ASES staff and deliver professional development trainings in support of the ASES expanded learning requirements during after school hours.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION:
Education, Training and Experience:

  • High school graduate or equivalent. AA Degree and working towards a BA Degree in education or related field is preferred. This is a classified position subject to the federal No Child Left Behind Act

  • A minimum of two years of experience coordinating programs for youth

  • Any other combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Positions in this classification require the use of a personal automobile and possession of a valid California Class C Driver's license. Incumbents must obtain a valid First Aid and CPR certificate within the designated probationary period for this classification within the first 30 days of employment.  Incumbents will be provided non-violent crisis intervention paid training within one year of employment in this classification.

The examination process for this recruitment may be comprised of one or any combination of the following: screening of the applicant's training, background, and experience; scored evaluation of responses on a supplemental application; written examination(s); qualifications appraisal oral examination; performance examination; or technical oral examination, scored on a job-related basis. Only the most highly qualified candidates will be invited to continue in the examination process.  Successful candidates who pass all parts of the examination process will be placed on the eligibility list in order of their relative merit as determined by these competitive examinations. The eligibility list for this classification will remain in effect for a period of 6 months.
