DEFINITION

Under the direction of Senior Research Analyst and Chief Technology Officer, performs a variety of complex and technical program duties as related to State and District student assessment, accountability and evaluation of programs and coordinates the ordering, receipt, inventory, storage, distribution, overall security of testing materials, training and data verification and correction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL LICENSE OR LANGUAGE SKILLS

Experience:
Four (4) years of full-time experience requiring the keeping and maintenance of statistical data and information is required in a research, analytical, or institutional planning position.

Education:
Must possess a secondary school diploma, or its equivalent (GED).  Associate (AA) degree or equivalent with course work in business administration, psychology, research, statistics, computer science or related fields is required.  Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with course work in business administration, psychology, research, statistics, computer science or related field is highly desirable.  Additional experience may be substituted  for all or part of the required AA degree or equivalent of sixty (60) semester units on the basis of one (1) year full-time experience being equal to thirty (39) semester units of college courses with course work in business administration, psychology, research, statistics, computer science or related fields. 

SPECIAL LICENSE OR LANGUAGE SKILLS
Possession of a valid California Class C Driver's License, or alternative means of transportation, is desirable

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential duties and responsibilities of this class include but are not limited to:
  • Performs a variety of complex and technical program duties related to State and District student assessment and accountability programs
  • Oversees the ordering, receipt, inventory, storage and distribution of secure testing materials to ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes, rules and regulation. 
  • Assists in the planning, designing and implementation of routine or special assessment and educational research studies including gathering and analyzing diverse statistical information for reports on student demographic and performance.
  • Assists in planning formats, procedures and reports for data collection and  presentations.
  • Develops questionnaires, surveys, forms and formats for data collection, analysis, reporting, and presentations
  • Inputs information into computerized database and develops advance queries to generate a variety of reports and lists
  • Collects, compiles, and manipulates data using unique modeling exercises, and summarizes data concerning school attendance (ADA), student enrollment, demographics, classroom availability and utilization, staffing, and salary
  • Receives and processes questionnaires, data and information requests from federal, state, county, local agencies, and other school Districts
  • Works with administrative and instructional staff members, departments, and other personnel in data gathering activities
  • Prepares tables, charts and maps
  • Maintains files of pertinent data, reports, and other publications containing source information
  • Compiles and verifies sources of information
  • Assists in preparing District school calendar
  • Takes action on routine pupil transfer requests
  • Performs administrative and clerical duties as needed
  • Performs other related duties as required
