Los Angeles Superior Court is seeking dynamic, well-qualified, and highly-motivated individuals to fill the position of Payroll Technician II.
Under general supervision, a Payroll Technician II performs responsible administrative work in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of Court-wide payroll and related records; performs timekeeping and payroll reporting duties for large and/or specialized Court units; serves as district liaison and prepares, processes and, maintains employee payroll and time reports.

SELECTION REQUIREMENTS:To qualify, you must meet the following requirements at the time of filing:
Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent
- AND - two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in performing timekeeping and payroll duties and functions.
Substitution: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university* will substitute for one (1) year of required experience.
Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
A valid California Class C Driver's License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:The ideal candidate will possess the following desirable qualifications:
- Experience processing transactions in an electronic personnel or payroll system
- Experience verifying and tracking leave benefits in a payroll system
- Experience processing, reviewing, correcting, and posting time records
- Experience providing guidance to management and/or staff on payroll matters
EXAMINATION INFORMATION:
Part I: Qualifying evaluation of education, training, and experience based upon submitted application.
Part II: Online examination, weighted 100%.

To receive credit, a legible copy of your diploma or transcript detailing the degree conferred and the name of the educational institution must be submitted within ten business days from the date your online application was filed.
