ASSISTED HOUSING STUDENT WORKER
Assisted Housing Division
$15.00 per hour

5 Part-Time Positions
12 Month position
Positions Located in Alhambra and Palmdale

The Housing Authority is seeking positive, energetic, and creative individuals with excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills to join the Assisted Housing Division. The ideal candidates must possess characteristics including initiative, sound judgment and discretion in support of the Assisted Housing Division.

Essential Job Duties

The Student Worker will perform a wide variety of special projects and assists professional staff by:
  • Working independently and presenting themselves in a professional manner.
  • Illustrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
  • Interacting with the public, other agencies.
  • Demonstrating an interest in affordable housing and public administration.
  • Managing multiple priorities.
  • Maintaining records.
  • Working with Microsoft Office software.
  • Performing a variety of Administrative assignments and specific program activities, as needed.
  • Regular attendance is an essential job function.

Qualifications

Must be currently enrolled in an *accredited college or university concentrating in the field of  Public Administration, Urban Studies, Human Services or a related field. 

Two (2) years of undergraduate coursework is equivalent to completed sixty (60) units for semester system or ninety (90) units for quarter system.

Additional Information

Possession of a valid California Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record is required. 

Successful candidates must complete a thorough background investigation, including a fingerprint search and physical evaluation prior to appointment.

This is a grant-funded position. Section 3. compliant.  Continuation of employment is contingent upon continued funding.
