The Information Analyst performs a variety of tasks related to the management of school enrollment, testing and data management; sets up, maintains and runs reports on the district's computerized student information system and all related software/databases; analyzes data for state reporting; imports and/or converts data into other programs and databases; provides support for student testing data.

CURRENT VACANCY: One full-time position (12 mos/yr, 8 hrs/day), with full benefits.

-Set up, maintain and run reports on the district's Microsoft SQL-based student information system and all related software/databases.
-Maintain the district's student information system for the purpose of ensuring its availability and reliable operation.
-Analyze data for State Report submission – CBEDS, CALPADS, Annual Maintenance, -Anomalies, State Identifiers, etc.
-Customer support; hardware and software troubleshooting.
-Train staff on student information systems and new procedures.
-Maintain computer operator security.
-Import and convert data into other programs and databases.
-Provide support for student testing data.
-Compose technical and non-technical materials (e.g., reports, memos, procedures, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information.
-Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
One year of recent experience in the usage of various databases, including Structured Query Language (SQL), and creation of custom reports.
Desirable Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree and experience with Q/Zangle Student Information System are highly desirable.
Certificates and/or completed courses in job-related field are desirable.
Written and oral proficiency in a second language.
CLASS QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Student information systems.
Structured Query Language (SQL), usage and maintenance of relational databases.
Basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and ratios.

Salary: Salary amounts listed above indicate the first and last step of the range for the position. New employees start at the first step. Permanent employees earn higher rates upon successful completion of the probationary period (step 2) and with successful job performance, receive merit increases each year up to the maximum amount (step 9 in 7 1/2 years).
Probationary Period: 130 days of paid service.
