PREVIOUS SELECTION PROCESS

Examination Weight: Written Test ………………………………………………1000%

The examination both Clerk and Messenger Clerk will consist entirely of a single, multiple-choice written test in which candidates may be tested in the following areas: interpersonal and customer service skills; the ability to read and understand what is read; knowledge of correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; the ability to sort files using letters and numbers or both; the ability to proofread; and knowledge of basic arithmetic.

If your application is accepted, you will be notified by mail of the specific time and location of the multiple-choice written test, which will be held on SATURDAY, JULY 13, 2002 in Los Angeles. Please allow approximately 3 hours to complete the test.

Your examination score will be based entirely on your written test score. Whether you apply for one or both jobs, you only need to take the written test ONCE. Although there is only one written test for both jobs, the passing score in the Clerk and Messenger Clerk examinations may be different and will be determined after the written test is administered.
