Tetra Tech BAS is currently seeking a Civil Engineer Intern to work in our Diamond Bar, CA office. The ideal candidate will be within 12 to 18 months from graduation with a Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering (BSCE or BSEE) or is currently enrolled in a Master of Science in Civil Engineering (MSCE) program. This job may lead to full-time employment after completion of the required degree depending on the availability of full-time positions at the time of graduation.
Responsibilities: The successful applicant must be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week in the office during regular business hours. Hours will be flexible, as determined by the management, to accommodate school attendance. The primary responsibility of the position will be to support staff engineers as a junior civil designer preparing grading, drainage, road, and other miscellaneous civil design projects associated with solid waste facilities. Field work may be required on a limited basis which will require walking up and down steep slopes and over uneven surfaces around heavy earthmoving equipment.
Physical Demands: The successful applicant must be able to work in an office environment sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. Limited but occasional field visits may be required to inspect construction sites or attend client meetings. * Must be working toward a degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
* Must be able to function well in a team within an office setting.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word and Excel.
* Basic familiarity with computer aided design programs.
* Strong communication and analytical skills.
