The mission of IH is to codify and apply the science behind how humans think and act in order to improve collaboration, creativity, and performance. IH was founded by a group of organizational change executives and cognitive scientists with deep expertise around diagnosing and engineering change in human social systems in order to improve engagement and productivity. To support these capabilities, we have a growing body of cognitive science research projects that involve a variety of methodologies, including behavioral measures (surveys, assessments) and neuroimaging (fNIRS). IH is looking for current Ph.D. students with the desire and ability to support quantitative cognitive science research in an industry setting. You will join IHs growing research team and contribute to agile, ongoing development of exciting new assessments and experiments alongside our researchers, psychometricians, and data science experts. You will gain unparalleled exposure to the application of cognitive science in real-world business settings. We are currently seeking Ph.D. graduate students (in Psychology, Neuroscience, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields) to join our team in Los Angeles, CA (or Remote) on a part-time, internship basis, 10-15 hours/week. Responsibilities: - Work alongside talented cognitive science researchers and data science experts to bring cutting-edge, research-driven assessments and experiments to life - Conduct efficient literature reviews to identify relevant cognitive science theories and concepts for upcoming projects - Perform exploratory data analyses to develop hypotheses, statistical models and/or algorithms to enable improved decision making for product development - Assist with the creation of interpretative and technical materials and reports - Assist with quality control of key project deliverables Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, Human Factors, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields (preferred anticipated graduation: 2020 or 2021) - Related training and experience, including: deep knowledge of experimental design methods, thorough understanding of complex statistical modeling (e.g. regression modeling, factor analyses, social network analyses, etc.), expert ability to conduct literature reviews, prior experience with human subjects research - Excellent communication (written/verbal) and teamwork skills - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment - Bonus: knowledge and expertise of fNIRS data collection and/or machine learning frameworks; prior work experience in an industry setting (outside of academia) Job Type: Internship Salary: $13.00 to $15.00 /hour Work Location: * Fully Remote Internship Compensation: * College Credit * Pay Schedule: * Monday to Friday
