As You Sow’s Environmental Health Program works to protect public health by addressing harmful materials in food, agriculture, and consumer products. We engage companies and educate investors about the long-term value of corporate responsibility. Our work currently focuses on pesticide use in agriculture and antibiotic use in livestock production. We are also one of the leading enforcers of California’s innovative Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act. Over 20 years, we have encouraged settlements that reduce hazardous emissions, eliminate consumer exposures to toxics, and provide funds for employee training to lower occupational exposures to toxic chemicals.
