Roughing It is looking to hire a part-time office intern to join our year-round team in Lafayette. The intern will provide support to our Marketing, Sales, and Human Resources departments. We provide paid training on current business practices and software applications.

ABOUT ROUGHING IT DAY CAMP Roughing It Day Camp celebrates over 45 years of helping children to grow in wonderful ways! Our traditional, all-outdoor summer camp is located on a 900-acre lakefront site in the San Francisco East Bay Area. Roughing It Day Camp activities emphasize skills, confidence, and team building, and include: horseback riding, rock climbing, swimming, fishing, kayaking, canoeing, rowing, arts and crafts, sports, and many more!

*Maintain and update database programs and track leads *Respond to inquiries from campers and staff via phone and email *Answer questions on customer accounts from camper families *Plan and manage email/mail campaigns *Update marketing media in web and print *Assist in organizing camp events *Monitor KPI and create weekly reports *Track ads using Google AdWords, Google Analytics (we will provide training) *Liaison with local schools & organizations on marketing initiatives *Provide customer service and general office support
Candidates must be comfortable carrying out projects independently while collaborating ideas with a team. While interns can set their own schedules, we are looking for someone who can commit to working a minimum of 15 hours week, through May 31. Preference will be shown to interns wishing to commit to the summer season, through mid-August. Full-time work may be available during the summer season when school is not in session.
Candidates must have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and be comfortable assisting in our camp office in a variety of departments.Office employees enjoy working in a wholesome camp environment, and being part of an organization committed to making a difference in the lives children. Ideal candidates have experience in marketing, sales, or customer service.
Students from all majors are encouraged to apply. Students seeking to fulfill internship requirements will probably find this position to be most suited for business, marketing, HR, and communications majors.
