The Long Beach Police Department has immediate openings for full-time, unclassified Clerk Typist III in the Investigations and Support Bureau. The individuals selected will provide direct support to the Division Commander.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
Monitoring and maintaining the calendar for the Division Commander
Assigning, tracking and completing project assignments
Creating and processing Purchase Orders and invoices
Tracking, collecting, and routing division payroll timecards
Typing and/or proofreading correspondence, memos, etc.
Maintaining divisional files
Preparing divisional quarterly reports
Miscellaneous duties, as requested by the Division Commander
REQUIREMENTS TO FILE
Three years of full time clerical and/or administrative experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Valid Driver's License
Successful Candidates will Demonstrate:
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational, time management, and general office skills
Ability to work with staff and management at all levels of the Department, City and outside agencies, specifically Division staff
Ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Tiburon and processing invoices
Ability to handle confidential matters in a professional manner
Flexibility in taking on new tasks and assignments and willingness to perform other related duties as required
Ability to coordinate meetings and special events
