Job Summary

Under the direction of the Special Projects and Quality Standards Manager, the Project Manager (PM) will coordinate and execute motel-based projects with a particular focus on exploring, creating and managing master leasing and/or alternative approaches with various motels that respond to the needs of those experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles. The project manager will also project manage and support the development and organization of motel initiatives internally within LAHSA to ensure an organized and coordinated approach to the administration of motel programs and services.
The work of the PM is multi-faceted and will focus on but not be limited to working with various City and County stakeholders, service delivery organizations, health agencies, motel owners and businesses, and internal LAHSA departments to ensure motel projects and initiatives are developed collaboratively to support the strategic implementation into the homeless delivery system as a whole.  The PM will support projects for motels that are currently being utilized and also support the development of new motel partnerships.

Essential Job Functions

  • Simultaneously manage multiple internal and external motel projects from inception to completion, inclusive of facilities considerations, homeless services design, planning and implementation, and measuring effectiveness.
  • Negotiate with motel owners, associations, and businesses to create agreements that support the homeless needs in Los Angeles.
  • Develop and implement marketing materials to support various motel outreach strategies working with internal LAHSA departments and external stakeholders and partners.
  • Work directly with providers on motel projects and initiatives.
  • Project manage LAHSA's internal approach to the centralization of all motel administration for LASHA funded organizations working with various departments including: Finance, Monitoring and Compliance, Contracts, Performance Management, Policy and Legislative affairs, and Systems.
  • Maintain clear project management tools and protocols that consider: goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of available resources. 
  • Proactively manage and escalate risks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain process and documentation for request, tracking, and approving changes to project scope, deliverables and/or timeline
  • Other duties or projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Basic understanding and knowledge of master leasing practices, motel conversions, and real estate.

Training & Experience

  • Relevant work experience managing projects and collaborating with government agencies.
  • Relevant work experience with negotiating and managing real estate and/or business negotiations highly desirable. 
  • The successful candidate is required to have strong knowledge of the social services field and/or successful management and implementation of homeless programs in the non?profit, government, or private sector.
  •      Bachelor's degree preferred.  An equivalent combination of applicable experience may be submitted for educational requirements
 
Salary Range: $62,091 - $90,031
