Under the direction of a supervisor, this position is responsible for administrative and paraprofessional duties.
The current opening for this position is with our Finance Department. This position will primarily perform payroll and finance functions and tasks.
This is a part-time, at-will position that is not eligible for City benefits. Only those applicants in which the department is interested will receive further contact after application submission.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
Sample duties include, but are not limited to:
Inputting and reviewing the accuracy of time cards
Preparing, reviewing and proofreading various records
Preparing and calculating taxes, payroll deductions, retroactive pay, and overtime
Printing payroll checks
Coordinating wage levies and assignments with other governmental agencies
Preparing and submitting payroll files to the retirement system
Making payroll adjustments and resolving payroll issues
Preparing memos and letters for both internal and external correspondence
Coordinating with other City departments on payroll-related issues
Delivering outstanding internal and external customer service solving problems and communicating effectively with the public and fellow employees
Conducting duties, responsibilities, tasks and assignments with a constructive, cooperative, positive, professional attitude and demeanor
Supporting the City's mission, goals, policies and objectives
Supporting the City's corporate values of: openness and honesty; integrity and ethics; accountability; outstanding customer service; teamwork; excellence; and fiscal responsibility
Performing other related duties as required
This position requires: Knowledge of: Payroll processing and record-keeping; computerized payroll systems; spelling, grammar and punctuation; and mathematical computations.
The ability to: Analyze payroll data; use modern office equipment, including a computer and a calculator; and work independently.

Education and experience: The position requires graduation from high school or a GED. Payroll, bookkeeping, and/or accounting experience is highly desirable. Knowledge of local government payroll is desirable.
PAY SCALE: The pay for the Program Coordinator position ranges from $14.00/hour - $50.00/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
SELECTION PROCESS: The selection process may include but is not limited to: application review and evaluation, written examination, performance test and interview.
