POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Department of Auditor-Controller is seeking well-qualified, highly motivated, dependable and organized professionals to fill Accountant I positions within the Accounting, Disbursements, Property Tax Apportionment Divisions. The positions report to an Accountant III or a Senior Accountant, Auditor-Controller. The positions are responsible for performing professional accounting tasks under general supervision.
The vacancies are located in the department of Auditor-Controller Accounting, Disbursements, and Property Tax Apportionment Divisions at 500 West Temple Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012.
Essential Job Functions
DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Reviews and processes a wide variety of accounting assignments and documents within the annual accounting cycle;
Prepares balance sheets, statement of revenues, accounting reports and other financial statements;
Reviews and approves various journal vouchers and payment requests;
Analyzes and reconciles financial transactions to financial statements/reports; and
Research and compile data for special assignments.
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
Strong working knowledge of the County's accounting processes;
Proficient analytical skills;
Proficient in Microsoft Excel;
Experience with eCAPS navigation, organization, chart of account, etc.;
Ability to adapt to new situations and to a changing work environment.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Restricted to permanent employees of Los Angeles County who currently hold the title of Accountant I.
