ABOUT THE POSITION: The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill a Fiscal Officer I position in the Bureau of Administrative Services, Budget and Fiscal Services Division. This position manages the Budget Section and is responsible for developing, preparing, and maintaining the Departmental budget; preparing the Budget Status Report (BSR); liaising with CEO's Budget Analysts; updating Budget Prep; controlling the Department's eCAPS Chart of Accounts; developing and maintaining Departmental budget systems and programs; and supervising three (3) subordinates.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of the principles of supervision and previous supervisory experience.
Extensive experience with the County's budget process and working knowledge of related administrative procedures and manuals such as Board of Supervisor agenda requirements and the County Fiscal Manual.
Experience with eCAPS, eHR, and Budget Prep.
Experience constructing, utilizing, and querying Access databases.
Thorough working knowledge of personal computing programs (e.g., Access, Excel, Word, etc.).
Experience analyzing and recommending solutions to a variety of budgetary and financial issues.
Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities while under pressure.
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of departmental personnel and representatives of other agencies.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements
ACCEPTING RESUMES FROM: Resumes will be accepted from permanent employees of Los Angeles County who either:
Currently hold the payroll title of Fiscal Officer I, Supervising Administrative Assistant III, or Administrative Services Manager (ASM) II, or
Are on the current ASM II certification list (only those in a reachable band will be eligible for consideration of appointment), or,
Have completed the equivalent of 21 semester units or 32 quarter units of accounting courses in an accredited college, including at least two courses in cost accounting, governmental accounting, or auditing -AND- have either three years of professional accounting or auditing experience as an Accountant III, Accounting Systems Analyst I, Intermediate Accountant-Auditor, or higher OR two years of responsible supervisory accounting experience as an Accounting Officer I or higher.
